Barcelona; Old Town

Barcelona Old Town

Part of an older tourist area in Barcelona. Not sure where it is exactly (perhaps you know).

The buildings, the curve of the road and the arch appealed to me as compositional elements. I had to wait quite a time for a clear shot!

This is such a beautiful, warm shot. It looks deserted -- as if all the children who may have been playing outside were just called in for supper. Lovely!

Some times the shot is worth the wait. I would said this is one of those times. What a beautiful area.

Barcelona is such a beautiful city. After Manila it's my next choice :-)
Beautiful curve and composition. Everything just looks perfect. Maybe I miss a beautiful Spanish girl around the corner...

Love the path in the center of the road. The door to the shop (?) on the right is perfect... adds a lot of mystery.

I agree, all the compositional elements are her. Very quaint street. And what about those durn tourists? They are so annoying walking into the pic. You need to set up some traffic cones and make people go around.

When I see the architecture from other parts of the world, I get very jealous. These buildings and road have such a character that we don't see in the cities.

I applaud you for waiting for a clear shot. This is one of my weaknesses as a photographer. Very well done.

Thank you all.

sidney, gnb and david - I did wait some time - unlike sidney I am somewhat shy of taking pictures with people in them - not sure why, perhaps I would not do them justice or they would be offended in some way.

I agree it would have looked great with a Spanish girl walking around the corner

Dave - I fear that you do indeed have patience to capture what you set out to do - e.g. the chocolate shop pic from a few days ago!

OH wow... This photo gives me a feeling of excitement as I look up the road through the arch and toward the bend...there must be an adventure up ahead! I love it! :)

Oh wow I am totally loving this - the architecture is just so perfect! And, of course, so is your capture of it. I like the perspective, how the buildings curve out of site through the arch there. :)

I love the way it leads your eyes into the distance, and the clear detail in the photo. It reminds me of an area where I stayed but for the life of me, I can't remember exactly where!
