Eiffel Tower: Outsized Nut

Outsized Nut

A very large nut holding down the lid of a pressure vessel half way up the Eiffel Tower.

It would have been rude not to take this photograph!

Well I am now here in the South of France - it is fabulous. We had, a superb meal in the local town yesterday evening and then listened to street musicians at the summer solstice festival.

As you see there is a wireless LAN at the hotel which means I have fast internet access to get my work email and streaming UK Radio 4 (though I have fluent German, my French is somewhat shaky so the TV is a non starter) - the plus side is that I can post and visit your blogs.

Red to pink to orange - quite nice, and a very different view of the tower. One that those of us who have yet to visit Paris can only view here.

Great find. How big was it in person? It's hard to tell from the pic, but it looks huge.

Glad to hear you have wifi. That was always a big plus for me in my travels. Have a great trip & stay safe.

I would love to listen to street musicians at a summer solstice festival. silly me, I didn't even realize that it WAS the summer solstice. Been far too busy packing boxes to notice the length of the day, I suppose! :) (we're moving next weekend. See my other blog for details...)

This is what I love about photography. I've never been to Paris, but I've seen the Tower countless times in print and video. I've never seen it like this. Your shots convey the wonderful details that make up the whole amazing thing. You've got a great eye.
