Flickr Favs: Dragon Squadron

Dragon Squadron

Out a couple of weeks ago on the day of the British Grand Prix at a country fair at Castle Ashby to get away from the race (we can hear the circuit from our house) I saw this.

I took several images and this one appealed to me the most - I cropped it square (top and bottom - edge to edge remains as shot) since it seemed to fit better and raised the intensity of the blue to give this backdrop.

This and Rebecca were the only ones this week taken with my DSLR all the other images (including tomorrow's) were taken using my trusty digicam.

at the end of it a red paper kite"- taken from one of my poems...

This just says spring to me, and part of me wishes I could go back to spring right now (70 degree weather especially sounds wonderful at the moment)! What a happy shot! :)

Reminds me of the T-mobile "bar" ads running right now :).

This photo works at many levels.

- good composition
- complimentary colors
- patterns
- receding patterns

Great capture.

I really like your crop. Good call there. We have a kite festival in Berkeley, CA this weekend. I'm planning on going there w/ my DSLR for some shots. After seeing this one, I'm really looking forward to it.

What a day that must have been -- such a blue sky, brisk breeze, vibrant colors -- just looking at the photo makes me feel happy! I too like the diagonal composition -- the whole photo seems very festive and celebratory.

your crop is perfect and I like the way they recede. I think there may be a slight blue cast to the image on my screen.
