Flickr Favs: Rebecca
This is a picture of my daughter Rebecca bouncing on a trampoline in our garden - taken August 04. This is he second picture of a person I have posted on this blog, the first was Solstice Jazz - as I have discussed elsewhere, I am somewhat wary of people pictures.
I have chosen this one because she is not easily identifiable and it has a surreal feel to it.

Loved in on Flickr - Love it here.
The hair does it for me!
Of course since you are a proud and probably protective papa I won't comment on how cute she is, or how many young men are and will be calling your home ;-)
LOL - this is great. The black/white socks crack me up!
I have also no portraits of humans in my blog. Actually harm, but many humans react aggressive, if one photographs them.

very nice pic :)
What a nice capture.... great timing..... wonder what is under all that hair....
Ian, great picture of your daughter in motion like swan before...
The clouds at the back looks so close and the flying hair makes this pic a classic. Looks like shes floating in the sky!
I like the capture of the hair, frozen in a moment of time.
That's absolutely fantastic. I agree with Rock and everyone else, the hair is THAT special something in this shot.
B'ful pic.. perfect timing and her hair covers the face.. everything perfect :-)
Intresting stealth mode:-)
This is great! Talk about a great background for a portrait...nothig distracting, no poles growing out of her head..lol! I love the action, too!
Superb shot. I love how the background is pure sky - it looks as though she is bouncing incredibly high!
Nice capture. I miss her face but have to confess it adds some mystery...and you can feel she is cute !
Why not a self portrait?
Then you don't neet to worry about:
a) I worry I will not do them justice
b) I worry they will not like it - trees and stuff do not complain!
c) I would like to take candids, but am a coward at heart
Such clarity and perfect timing -- you froze the motion so well. Every strand of hair is sharp. I like the lines of her arm against the sky. The depth of field is so good -- her figure is nice and sharp against the soft background of the sky. It's also how disorienting it is to have no horizon in a photo -- a very original and refreshing shot, Ian.
This one is really cool! Love it! I wish I could see her face though :)
awesome pic .. perfect timing. the hair is the best part!
Amazing quality in an action shot. Beautiful. You should take people pictures more often...Solstice Jazz is also a classic. (I don't need to click on the link to remember, was that great picture of a blurred saxo player. I have it recorded on my mind.)
Awesome image. This ones a lot of fun, and not your normal family snapshot. I see everyone has already covered all the bases, but I can understand you not wanting to post family pictures on the internet.
Youth !!!....... :(
great capture!
Thanks for commenting on my site Ian! I came on here the other day when Lara guest posted and I love your photos... especially this one! You're right it does have a surreal feel to it. did you use a very fast shutter speed?
nice picture!
Lovely shot. She appears to be so light in the air.. perfect timing.
Great action shot, love the hair flowing.
Same thing with my oldest daughters and they won't show their faces, especially in front of camera! What a great image but would love to see her face..does she look like you or her mom? Take cre Ian!
hehe...great capture! Crazy hair...and it looks soo cool with the sky in the background :-)
Very nice! It is surreal!
look like she's floating in the air , look very high from the sky in the background...great capture:-)
Personally, I think people pictures are superior to all else, and I freely admit I'm not good at them.
But this is fantastic. With this kind of talent, you should do more!
wow! this is a good action shot!
same here... i don't usually post pictures of people but it's a challenge for me.
your shots are wonderful by the way... WOW! :)
Oh this is just awesome!!! What a fantastic shot, I just love it!!! It is very surreal, like she is just suspended in the sky. Totally awesome!!!
This photo is bugging me! It's a great portrait and I wanna see the face! I guess your attempt in making rebecca mysterious works! Btw, great timing :)
Nice. I like how the background works to divorce the photo from reality.
Hey I think this shot is good. As if she was floating in the sky. I think she deserve to show her face for being a great model in this shot.
(Was she wearing one black and one white socks?)
Thanks for stopping by at my photoblog. Hope to see you around. ;P
What a fabulous shot! Really well done. I, too, am wary of "people" shots. However, I've been encouraged by some people who do them really well so I'm sticking a toe in...slowly. :-)
Thanks so much for posting on my photos. Love this one and know what you mean about taking candid shots of complete strangers. I haven't brought myself to do it yet and when I do, I ask permission, and then end up sounding like a complete dork!
What a great shot! It screams YOUTH, ENERGY, FUN! Love how her face is kept hidden. makes you wonder.. and I love the BG.. amazing shot! Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant shot! It makes one feel young!
Awesome shot! the motion here and the whole feeling is just too good! i loved it
All of the elements have conspired to make this a great shot. I love the hair, background and the body in motion...the fact that her face is hidden behind the hair only adds to it.

Great action photo! I am still a little hesitant to take candid photos of people I don't know, but I take plenty of portraits of actors and people I do know.
i could not resist the urge to comment. it's very joyful. great idea too!
you have just frozen the action there.
I am also wary of putting pictures of people on blog, for that matter even taking pictures of strangers.
Awesome shot! I love the energy and motion this captures.
